1992 – 1993: 1 year at the Amstel Lyceum in Amsterdam
1993 – 1996: 3 years Mavo, Middenmeer Mavo in Amsterdam
From 1992 to 1996 I followed a standard study (according to the Netherlands). I was already interested in technique but I still choose for a regular Havo/Mavo school.
1996 – 2000: 4 years study on a MBO (MTS) – direction Energy engineering
After these 4 years I went to the MTS on the Spaklerweg, for the study Electro technique. This was and still is a study which is mostly done by boys. I was one of the 6 girls together with
400 boys. In the beginning this was a bit weird but I got used to it quite quick. This was again a 4 years study, from whom 3 years theoretical and one year work experience. In 1999 and 2000 I started my last year and I have worked for two company’s. The first company was Zaanstad BV a technical drawings office. The second was IGMA, the daughter company of the Cargill. At both company’s I have learned a lot and I can look back at a great experience and at a great time.
2000 – 2003: 3 years study HBO (HTS) on the Hogeschool van Amsterdam with half a year internship in Switzerland
In September 2000 I continued studying on the HTS, again Electro-technique. This was a 3 years study (normally it is four but because I had done the MTS I was allowed to finish in three years). It was very hard in the beginning but the further I got the easier it seemed to be. The study was build up with a lot of team projects and this I really liked. My internship was a 6 months trainee period at CERN. I moved to France/Suisse and it for sure has been a great time. Almost everything about this half year is described on my (Dutch) website.
2003 – 2004: 1/2 extra contract at CERN and than 1/2 year working in the Netherlands
During my internship CERN offered me another half year contract at CERN. After giving my final presentation, in August 2003, in the Netherlands, I went back to Switzerland. I stayed there till the end of March. I have made an English website about almost everything I have done there.
During my trainee ship at CERN I decided to continue with a Master study. Though this would not start until September. To have something nice to do during my time off I worked in a car-garage for 4 months.
2004 – 2007: 2 1/2 year Masters degree at the University of; Twente. Graduated on the end of Augustus of 2007.
My Master study took around 2.5 years, and I graduated in September 2007.
2007-now:I started working in October, first at Aemics and currently at DEMCON.
After a long time of studying it was about time for the working-life. For more than a year I have been working as an electrical engineer at Aemics and currently I work at DEMCON.
